A TEAM of police volunteers have been recognised for their dedication and service to the force.
Janice Welch, Mick Bell and Helen Stringfellow were recognised with the Volunteer Team of the Year award at a ceremony at the constabulary headquarters in Hutton.
The Longridge-based trio help operate the local CCTV system by monitoring the cameras, obtaining and recording images of criminality and directing police to the scene.
Assistant Chief Constable Wendy Walker said: “Crime reduction within Longridge this year is the highest in Lancashire and it is of no doubt that this team had contributed to this success.”
The event celebrates those who have spent at least five years vol-unteering for the force in various roles and community projects.
