YOUNG people aged between 13 and 15 will need a Blackburn Transport BeezBuzzcard to travel for half fare on their normal bus services from September 1.
The new BeezBuzzcard has been launched in conjunction with Blackburn with Darwen Council to help young people to travel at cheaper fares on Blackburn Transport's buses as well as providing proof to drivers that they are under-16.
It is hoped the card will help avoid embarrassing incidents when drivers think young people look older than they are.
As well as being able to travel half fare, young people who hold a BeezBuzzcard will be able to purchase the new half-fare Child RoverCard which offers unlimited travel on Blackburn Transport's normal bus services for £2.00 for a day, £4.50 for three days, £6.25 for seven days and only £22.50 for 28 days.
BeezBuzzcard Application forms can be downloaded website www.blackburntransport.co.uk.
Application forms can be taken to Waves or any Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council leisure centre with proof of age (birth certificate or passport) and the payment of £2 per year.
Payment includes a photograph, to be be taken at the leisure centres.
