Lancashire students are set to get an autumn reminder to buy a TV licence when they set up digs after leaving home for the first time.
TV Licensing has set up a new "pre-registration" service to help parents ensure their children are on top of their finances.
Students can sign up to the online service, and TV Licensing will get in contact when the autumn term begins to remind them to set up a licence.
Students risk prosecution and a fine of up to £1,000 if they are caught watching TV without a licence.
