A public meeting has been called to discuss plans to put the town's post office into the hands of a franchise.
The meeting will be held at 7pm today at King George's Hall.
Invited speakers include Jack Straw MP and representatives from the Communication Workers Union and the Post Office.
Local residents are invited and leaflets will be handed out in town to advertise the event.
