FORMER Downing Street spin doctor and Burnley FC fanatic Alastair Campbell briefed business bosses on leadership.

Mr Campbell was at Ewood Park, home of bitter rivals Blackburn Rovers, for a dinner hosted by restructuring group Leonard Curtis.

It helped raise more than £3,000 for the Variety Club, which funds special minibuses and sports equipment for disabled children.

Mark Colman, of Leonard Curtis’ Blackburn office, in Wellington Street, said: “It was a hugely successful evening and raised a good sum for a very deserving cause.

“We were delighted that Alastair Campbell was able to join us. He gave us all a fascinating insight into leadership and politics.

“Everyone knows that he is a keen Burnley fan and the fact the dinner was being held at Ewood Park wasn’t lost on him, or the audience.”

Mr Campbell was Tony Blair’s communications director at No. 10 for six years before quitting in 2003.

Leonard Curtis also has offices in Manchester, London, Birmingham, and Bristol.
