HOUSE music returns to King George's Hall, Blackburn, on September 9 when Curious Hifi comes into town.

The last Curious Hifi night back in April proved to be a sell-out and the men behind the night, DJs Paul Calvy and John Bennett, are looking at making it a quarterly event.

The next night sees up-and-coming Glasgow DJ Jim Fatcat headlining behind the decks.

He is building up a fantastic reputation in his home city playing sets at the legendary Arches and after seeing him, the promoters felt he was perfect for Curious Hifi with his electro and groovy house style.

The event promises to be spectacular with Curious Hifi doubling the size of the sound system from the previous event and bringing in a state-of-the-art lighting system.

Paul Calvy said: "Curious Hifi is all about the music.

£We are offering somthing to Blackburn that it hasn't got - a good house music night.

"Last time we had to turn people away on the night as it was a sell-out so we would urge anyone who wants to guarantee they can enjoy the night to buy their tickets in advance."

Paul and John have been busy playing sets in clubs in Leicester and Glasgow.

Paul played his groovy house style all night in the backroom at Arches and John Bennett played a memorable set in the main room warming up for global DJs - Tom Stephan of Superchumbo Records and Berlin-based Corvin Dalek of Flesh Records.

Curious Hifi is at King George's Hall, Blackburn on Saturday, September 9. Tickets from the box office on 01254 582582. Check out Curious Hifi's site, www.curioushifi.co.uk.
