IT'S the little touches which can sometimes make a difference.
Take this week's visit to the Shandar where the staff asked if I was driving and repackaged my order in a flat bottomed box to prevent it spilling all over the car's interior.
Any spillage would have been a real waste as the chicken dhansak and beef madras were both first rate - and at £9 including pilau rice and chapatis represented good value.
The Shandar offers a a wide selection of Indian dishes and you could choose to eat in if you so desired.
Prepared promptly, our meals were both subtle and spicy.
My dhansak had several pieces of pineapple to add to the flavour of tender chunks of chicken.
The madras wasn't so fiery it was a challenge although perhaps a little more meat would have been ideal.
