THE annual Burnley May Day Festival has been held in Towneley Park.
The festival, one of very few in the country that has been held every year since the May Day bank holiday began, featured a fun fair, donkey rides, and stalls in a marquee.
New for this year was an It’s a Knockout event, which was run in conjunction with the Brunshaw Action Group.
Speakers included Julie Cooper, leader of the Labour Group on Burnley Borough Council, and John Hobson, from the Haldane Society of Socialist Lawyers.
