ASSISTANT engineer Roy Fishwick admires the magnificent mill engine during a Steaming Day at Bancroft Mill Engine Museum, in Barnoldswick.
The engine’s two cylinders and 16-foot flywheel originally drove around 1,250 weaving looms via its main shaft some 263 feet in length.
The Bancroft Mill Engine Trust relies entirely on visitor entrance, donations, and membership fees, for its day-to- day running expenses.
