POLICE were called when a teenager shouted racist abuse on Burnley bus station.

The girl, thought to be aged 14 to 16, launched a tirade of verbal abuse at the venue’s gate two.

The insults are believed to have been directed at a passenger on the number 21 bus to Trawden, which was waiting to depart.

One passenger said: “She was really out of control, kicking out at buses and punching windows.

"And at one point she was running around the apron.

"At least three buses could not leave the bus station because of what was going on.”

A Lancashire Police spokesman said the girl was removed from the bus station and given a warning after the incident on Wednesday at 8.30pm.
