ROSSENDALE women put themselves into focus at Bury Photographic Society’s annual awards.
Their work is among 140 prints and more than 150 screened digital images on display at Bury Art Gallery.
Diane Noles from Chatterton won the colour portrait print award for “Amber”.
Jane Miller from Ramsbottom took the beginners’ class prize with “Mirror Mirror by the Wall” and also won the president’s prize in that class for “Soft Pinks”.
Jean Neville from Haslingden won the natural history category with “Brown Bear Watched by a Gull”.
Overall winner of the centenary trophy for top marks in print and digital was Sarah Davies from Bury.
She took the president’s prize in the advanced class for “On Golden Sands” and first prize in the creative prints section for “Autumn to Winter”.
Ms Davies also won a first prize for her photograph of a mother and child at a country fair in the digital photojournalism section and first prize for “Friendship”, a sunset picture taken of a couple at the bandstand at Bury’s Clarence Park.
President of Bury Photographic Society, George Steele said: “We have some very talented women photographers in the club and this year it’s been proved by their success in the annual awards.
"The standard is very high so the men will have to catch up.”
The exhibition runs until April 16.
