A TEENAGER was taken to hospital after a serious road traffic collision in Stacksteads yesterday.
At around 8.15am in Newchurch Road the 17-year-old, riding a silver Yamaha towards Waterfoot, overtook a stationary bus and collided with a Land Rover Freelander which emerged from Baldwin Street.
The rider, from Bacup, was thrown from his bike during the collision and suffered concussion and a nasty gash to his right leg.
He was taken to Rochdale Infirmary and was kept in overnight.
Sergeant Tracey Ward from the Road Policing Unit said: “I would appeal to anyone that witnessed this incident to come forward and speak with police on 08451 25 35 45.”
