SEVERAL accidents caused rush hour traffic to come to a standstill on the Edenfield bypass.
Both carriageways between junction 1 on the M66 and the A56 at Stubbins roundabout were affected after a Ford Fiesta crashed in the inside lane on the southbound side, blocking the lane from 6.30am on Thursday.
There were further minor accidents on the same stretch of road between 6.30am and 7.30am.
