LANCASHIRE Police’s new director of resources Ian Cosh will be continuing his treasurer post with the Lancashire Police Authority on an ‘interim’ basis.
The temporary post will be scrutinised by outside bodies to ensure ‘financial probity’ and the authority’s committee was told it will lead to a more ‘streamlined structure to allow more effective business’.
Mr Cosh is set to replace retiring David Brindle in the £105,000 a year resources role and is tasked with overseeing £42m of cuts and an estimated 1,000 posts being lost.
