3,500 Dancing On Ice viewers have complained over comments made by judge Jason Gardiner to the show's head coach Karen Barber from Blackburn.

He caused a storm on the ITV1 show after telling her: "If your opinion still mattered, Karen, you would still be on the judging panel."

But the 45-year-old has since told the TV Times he was not proud of his comments.

He said: "I'm not thrilled with what I said there and how that came across.

"I felt I overstepped the mark. It was personal and I'm not proud of it.

"I honestly wanted to apologise to Karen."
