THE funeral of well-known East Lancashire journalist, Gordon Chapman, will take place on Friday.
Mr Chapman, 72, of Booth Road, Waterfoot, was a news reporter for the Lancashire Evening Telegraph in the seventies, eighties and nineties working mainly in the Rossendale, Burnley and Accrington areas.
He was widely known throughout the district as 'scoop Chapman'.
He died in hospital in Blackburn on Sunday after a lengthy illness.
The funeral will be from the chapel of rest at Hamer's funeral services, Rawtenstall, on Friday at 9.45am followed by a service at Accrington crematorium at 10.20am.
Family flowers only are requested with donations in lieu to Rossendale Hospice and Bleakholt animal santuary.
