VALENTINE’S couples will be able to sample a new ‘aphrodisiac pie’ at chip shops today.
Holland’s Pies, based in Baxenden, will be giving away a limited number of the pies, created by celebrity chef Tom Bridge and his team at Holland’s, at fish and chip shops across the North West today.
Tom, author of Pie Society and one of the top pie development chefs in the country, said: “Holland’s is loved by people across the North West, so this Valentine’s Day, we wanted to show our fans some love in return.”
Their recipe for love is said to include chicken thigh, perry cider, asparagus in a lemon cream sauce, topped with smoked oysters and a sprinkling of saffron.
The pie firm say the oysters, asparagus and saffron, said to be aphrodisiac foods, ‘affects neurotransmitters in the brain’s pleasure centres’.
