FREE offices are being made available to charities to help them through tough economic times.

General manager of Hyndburn Voluntary and Community Resource Centre, Tony Dobson, who is also a Hyndburn councillor, said they made the decision to offer space at the centre after seeing so many local charities struggle with overheads.

Three offices are available to be used at the Canon Street resource centre in Accrington, which in total will save the charities who use them up to £30,000 a year on office rents. Coun Dobson said: "We're here to help charities, that's why the centre was created seven years ago. Times are very tough and saving a charity this bill could mean all the difference to their survival." The three offices vary in size from one suitable for a staff of 15 to one.
