A SENIOR detective has said that footage of a man jailed for deliberately driving at his pregnant girlfriend was ‘sickening’ to watch.
Christopher Procter, 20, of Pothouse Lane, Accrington, drove at the teenager, clipping her arm and then hitting her again.
He was jailed for six months last week at Burnley Crown Court.
And he was also banned from driving for a total of two years.
The baby was unharmed in the incident.
But the investigating officer, DI Claire Holbrook, said that the victim was ‘lucky not to lose the child’.
She said: “This was a sickening attack on a defenceless young girl and her unborn baby.
“The incident was captured on CCTV and despite my 22 years in the police, I have still found it difficult to watch.”
