EAST Lancashire blues band The Revenues came joint runners-up in the northern heat of the New Brunswick Battle of the Bands.
The Barnoldswick group are now included in an online vote which could see them seal a spot in the national final to compete for a chance to play at the Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival, in the Canadian province.
Radio presenter Lucas Campbell, who hosted the heat, said: “The Revenues gave us a shot in arm of high energy R&B and were reminiscent in style to the early Yardbirds.”
He described them as ‘one of the great musical revelations of the evening’ and said their own compositions were ‘inspired’.
Also competing was Burnley 18-year-old Lucy Zirins.
