A BACUP teenager convicted of taking part in a three-on-one attack in the street has been spared prison.
Gary Christopher Crook, 19, of Rosebank Street, was said to have been part of a trio who punched and kicked Michael Lloyd after a clash between rival teenagers in the town.
Burnley magsitrates heard the victim was walking home along Burnley Road with his girlfriend when Crook and two friends began shouting abuse at them.
He tried to ignore them, but was punched to the ground.
Mr Lloyd suffered a swelling to his head and a split lip, but could not say who had delivered which blows as he had been curled up in a ball.
Crook denied assaulting Mr Lloyd, but was convicted after a trial. He was given a six-month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, with £250 costs.
Two others are awaiting sentence for the attack.
Janet Sime, defending, said Crook was considering an appeal.
