ORDERS worth £4million have been placed with bus maker Optare.
Among those added to the order book were a contract with Epsom Coaches, a deal with Anglian Coaches, and an order from Yeomans Canyon, of Hereford.
Most of the buses will be built at Optare’s site at Leeds, but sales, research and development are handled by 150 staff at the company’s base in Lower Philips Road, Whitebirk, Blackburn.
Chief operating officer Glenn Saint said of the January orders: “This is a solid endorsement of our products from a number of the country’s most highly-respected operators.
"I take this as a clear sign of revival in the bus market.”
