A MAN suffered a fractured skull after being assaulted in Burnley town centre.
The 33-year-old man was attacked by two men outside the Kestrel Suite pub, at the junction of Hammerton Street and Cow Lane.
He was punched in the face in the incident at around 1am on Sunday January 30 and was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital, where he is being treated for a fractured skull, ear damage and bleeds to the brain.
Detective Inspector Simon Cheyte, from Burnley CID, said: “This would appear to be a serious and completely unprovoked assault and I would appeal to anyone that witnessed this incident or has any information that could assist with our investigation to get in touch.
“In particular I would like to hear from anyone that was in the pub that night around the time of the offence.”
