AN IMAGE of a man who stole cash being delivered to a bank has been released by detectives.

Officers are urging people who may recognise the man featured in the ‘Evofit’ animation to help them as they investigate the cash-in-transit robbery.

The incident at 11am last Friday saw a woman employee of G4S security confronted at the HSBC bank in Blackburn Road, Accrington.

The man wearing a hooded top forcefully pushed into her before snatching the cash box.

He escaped on foot with a ‘significant amount of cash’ in the direction of Birch Street. The woman was not injured but was left ‘extremely shaken’.

The offender is believed to be white, aged in his early twenties and of medium build.

He was wearing a dark hooded top with dark track suit bottoms, with the hood pulled up over his face. He was also carrying a black holdall.

Detective Inspector Mark Vaughton said: “I would urge anybody who may recognise the man in the Evofit to contact police.”
