FORMER Clarets stars showed off some fancy footwork when they helped open a new beauty salon.

Ex-Burnley boss Stan Ternent was joined by former players Ian Cox and Steve Davis to officially open the Sweet Feet Fish Spa, in High Street, Barrowford.

And the players dipped their feet into a tank full of tiny garra rufa, or ‘doctor fish’, which suck away on flaky and dead skin.

Susan Cox, part-owner of the spa with Michelle Dorsett, said: “Footballers aren’t your average customer but we thought it would be something different.

"They all had a laugh and the ones that had the treatment said they really enjoyed it. Their feet felt a lot softer when they had finished.

“They did say they would come back and have another treatment.

“Stan didn’t get his feet in but he did put his hands in for a bit.”

The beauty craze, which has been dubbed a ‘Piranha pedicure’ and originated in Turkey, has also been proven to help with psoriasis and eczema.

Susan added: “It’s been very busy so far.

“The treatment is very popular at the moment.”
