A MAN has been arrested after the attemped rape of a 21-year-old woman in Haslingden.
The Rossendale man was last night being questioned on suspicion of assault and attempted rape.
It follows a report that a man attempted to rape a woman in Cedar Avenue, the Longshoot estate, Haslingden, at around 8pm on Sunday.
Police said the woman was attacked as she walked towards some garages.
However, detectives said the woman managed to escape and run home when her family alerted the police.
The area remained cordoned off last night.
