PLECKGATE High School Maths and Computing College has gained an award from Clarence House.
Headteacher of the Blackburn school Robin Campbell received The Prince's teaching Institute Award in geography from Prince Charles.
Subject leader Heather Swales had put a plan together to enhance the teacher of the subject, the school said.
The Prince's Teaching Institute put in place a series of summer schools aimed at inspiring teaching to introduce pupils to more challenging material.
A total of 194 departments in 126 schools have been awarded the Prince's Teaching Institute's Schools Programme Mark, which recognises the development of inspirational ideas to enhance teaching of English, History, Geography, Maths and Science.
