MORE than 100 school leavers came together for one last time to celebrate their GCSE achievements.
The former Witton Park High School pupils, Blackburn, were met by the new headteacher, Dean Logan, together with his predecessor Gwen Onyon.
Mrs Onyon, who retired at the end of the school year, congrat-ulated the youngsters at a ceremony in King George’s Hall last night.
The former year 11 students were praised for their hard work and were wished the best for the future.
The summer’s GCSE results were the best ever at the school.
The results saw 47 per cent of students gaining five A* to Cs including English and maths.
Mrs Onyon said: “As a school our vision and ambition for you when you joined Witton Park five years ago was to ensure that we did our best by every student and that every student could achieve the best that they possibly could."
She added: “We are all very, very proud of you.
“All the best in the future and don’t forget to keep in touch with your friends at Witton Park.”
