THREE men will appear at Preston Crown Court today, after being charged in connection with double murder in Burnley.

James Atkinson and Neil Gilmore, both 55, were found dead in a flat in Waddington Avenue last Tuesday.

Kenneth Howson, 25, of Williams Road, Burnley, and Daniel Waddington, 22, of Pine Street, Burnley, are charged with murder.

Lee Howson, 18, also of Williams Road, is accused of perverting the course of justice.

They appeared before Burnley magistrates on Saturday morning and were remanded in custody until today’s appearance.

Post-mortem examinations confirmed both men, who lived in the flat, died from head injuries.
