POLICE will join forces with councils in an attempt to prevent crime, anti-social behaviour and traffic problems around Pendle Hill this Hallowe'en.
Officers will work with Pendle and Ribble Valley councils to put traffic arrangements in place to minimise disruption to residents in the villages around the hill, in the build-up to, and on the night of Hallowe'en.
They will also step up high visibility patrols in the area to discourage people from acting in an anti-social manner on the hill.
Pendle Council is urging anyone who wants to go up Pendle Hill on Hallowe'en to do so in daylight.
The local authority said a fundraiser for Pendleside Hospice gave people the perfect opportunity to do just that.
At 10.30am on Sunday, October 31, witches, wizards, ghosts and ghouls will be setting off from Barley Village Hall on a five-mile sponsored Hallowe'en Walk.
For more information contact the hospice on 01282 440100.
