PLANS to improve bus services in Rossendale over the next 12 months have been revealed by Lancashire County Council.
The plan is one of a number of improvements that have been earmarked for the borough in a new report.
Council bosses also want to improve signage at gateways and roundabouts and make more activities available to youngsters.
Now they will enter into discussions with bus operators about the possibility of improving services between Bacup and Todmorden and Bacup and Burnley.
They will also improve the publicity for bus services in the borough, especially those which serve local hospitals.
Coun Tony Swain, leader of Rossendale Borough Council, said: “We have done a lot of work towards adapting how we work with our neighbourhoods.
“These plans are the first step in moving that forward and for the county council to be looking at them shows Rossendale is leading the way to working with neighbourhoods.”
Other areas of improvement for the next 12 months include signage improvements at major gateways and roundabouts in Haslingden.
