A MAN climbed on to the roof of a factory during a three-hour standoff with police.
The drama unfolded in Brierfield in the early hours of Thursday morning when police recieved reports of a man on the roof of a factory near to the B&Q store in Churchill Way near junction 12 of the M65.
Officers arrived at the scene at around 5am to find the man clinging to the roof of a building to the right of the B&Q store.
Part of Churchill Way was closed as officers cordoned off the area as a precaution.
Police negotiators and firefighters from Nelson Fire Station were at the scene and at just after 8am the man came out down from the roof voluntarily.
He was unhurt.
The man has been arrested.
