TWO Padiham residents have written to the Local Government Ombudsman to complain about a lack of consultation over the closure of the town’s recycling centre.
The Park Road site closed for the final time on Friday, but residents are still angry at the closure.
Elizabeth Bolton, clerk of Padiham Town Council, said: “Two people have submitted letters of complaints to the Ombudsman.
“I have also had a meeting with MP Gordon Birtwistle’s assistant and he said that Mr Birtwistle will write letters of support in both instances to the Ombudsman.”
The closure of the Padiham centre will save £210,000 a year.
