A COLNE woman who was caught not cleaning up after her dog twice in three months has been ordered to pay £515.
Samantha Morrisey, 26, of Glenroy Avenue, was spotted failing to clean up after her dog in her own street on February 23 and then again in The Crescent, Colne, on May 11.
The case was heard in Morrisey’s absence on Thursday, at Reedley magistrates’ court, where she was convicted of both offences.
She was fined £175 for the first offence and £260 for the second offence, together with £25 costs and £15 victim surcharge for each offence.
Morrisey was ordered to pay the total of £515 within 21 days. Coun James Starkie, who speaks up against dog fouling in Pendle, said: “The intention is to keep Pendle clean, not to hit offenders in the wallet where it hurts, but if we have to, we certainly will.
“The message is simple, please pick up after your dog or risk getting fined.”
