A 35-YEAR-OLD man attacked his partner during a drunken row during which she was grabbed by the hair and dragged into bushes.
Blackburn magistrates heard the victim did not want to make a complaint to police, but the incident was witnessed by a man looking through his kitchen window and Paul Anthony Dutson was arrested.
Dutson, of Hancock Street, pleaded guilty to assaulting Dawn Fairhurst.
He was remanded on bail for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.
Sobia Ahmed, prosecuting, said the couple were having an altercation and she was screaming at him to get off and leave her alone.
He pushed her hard and when she walked off, followed and grabbed her again.
“She declined to report the incident, although the officer who attended saw bruises on her upper arms,” said Miss Ahmed.
Jonathan Taylor, defending, said Miss Fairhurst had come to court to support her partner.
