MORE than 200 past and prospective pupils visited a Blackburn school before it is knocked down to make way for a new building.
The open day at St Silas Primary School saw pupils from 80 years ago, as well as those who left just last year, go back to take one last look around.
Staff and students put together a compilation display of old photographs, log books and much more about the history of the school.
The Clematis Street school has had a £7m scheme approved for a replacement building on the same site by September 2012.
Headteacher Hillary Hinchliff said: “It was absolutely fantastic.
More than 200 people came to visit, including people who went to the school 79 to 80 years ago.
“There was a steady stream of people between 2pm and 6pm.
“People were really interested to find their names in the old logbooks.”
