THE two independent councillors who hold the balance of power on Blackburn with Darwen Council have signed an agreement with Labour.
Trevor Maxfield and Anthony Meleady caused the previous ruling coalition to collapse when they resigned from the For Darwen Party last month.
Now the two councillors have signed an agreement with Labour, meaning they get an input into decision-making but are not given any senior roles.
Council leader Kate Hollern said the deal would ‘stabilise’ the council.
