A MAN who sexually assaulted a teenage boy at a Blackburn pub has been jailed for 12 months.
Lee Healey was captured on CCTV carrying out his crimes on a 17 year-old who was 'out of it' through drink.
The victim had no recollection of events at the Bulls Head pub, Whalley New Road, Brownhill.
The next thing he remembered was waking up at home at three o'clock in the afternoon.
Healey, 22, of Roe Lee Park, Blackburn, had pleaded guilty to two charges of sexual assault following the incident in March.
Patrick Ryan, prosecuting, said CCTV film showed the victim slumped and attacked while unconscious. When the CCTV footage came to light, the defendant was arrested and interviewed by police.
When shown the CCTV film, Healey claimed to have no memory of the assault. He also said he was deeply sorry for the behaviour.
He had no previous convictions.
Richard Hunt, defending, said his client was bitterly embarassed.
Mr Hunt claimed there had been a 'daliance' in the pub toilets earlier in the evening.
"As to what happened and why, this defendant plainly misread, misunderstood and perhaps took advantage of circumstances as they seemed to be," said Mr Hunt.
Mr Hunt said his client had no recollection of the evening.
He added: "He is absolutely mortified by what happened and wishes it had never happened. He assures the court through me that it will never happen again."
Judge Robert Brown told Healey it was a sustained assault.
He said the victim had been particularly vulnerable in that he was unconscious and unable to raise any objection to the defendant's conduct.
The judge added he was prepared to envisage that some form of activity of a sexual nature had taken place earlier that evening. That activity had either been consensual or at the least, the victim did not raise any objection to it, the judge said.
Healey was told he will be on the sex offenders list for 10 years.
