YOUTHS have been praised by police following a dramatic reduction in reports of anti-social behaviour in Ramsbottom.
Police said they received 105 reports of anti-social behaviour between April 1 and August 31 this year, compared to 262 during the same period in 2006 — a reduction of 60 per cent.
Officers said targeted patrols and intervention work by Bury Youth Services and Bury Youth Offending Team had been partly responsible for the drop.
Insp Bryn Williams, of Ramsbottom Police, also praised youngsters for showing a change in attitude.
He said: “I would like to congratulate the majority of young people in the area who now behave very well.”
