AN Accrington church has opened its doors to worshippers once again, led by the Rev John Binks, left.

St John the Evangelist Church, Addison Street, home to the Accrington Pals Chapel, closed in 2007 after concerns over electrical wiring.

Last weekend saw the 140-year-old church filled for two services and celebrations as it was officially re-opened.

The occasion coincided with national Back To Church Sunday.

Volunteers at the church say there is still work to be done, but roof repairs and rewiring are finished.
