A 10-YEAR-OLD arrested after a fire that razed a row of Burnley homes to the ground last month will not face any charges, police said.
The girl was arrested after the blaze destroyed nine under-construction homes, in Accrington Road, in just 30 minutes on August 4.
But police have decided there was insufficient evidence to charge the girl.
An eight-year-old boy and 14-year-old girl have also faced police questioning over the incident but have not had any charges brought.
Meanwhile police and firefighters are continuing their investigation into another major fire over the weekend which tore through 10 derelict houses in the same road.
Several nearby businesses were evacuated when the fire broke out at around 10.30pm on Saturday.
Part of the roof collapsed into the street and the route had to be cordoned off to traffic.
Inspector Nick Hodgeson, of Burnley Police, said: "The cause of the fire is unknown at the moment and we are keeping an open mind. We would appeal for anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area on Saturday night to come forward."
Workers from Electricity North West were on site yesterday checking the supplies in the area.
