TWO main roads have been reopened following a bomb scare in Lancaster city centre this morning.
The bomb squad are still investigating an unidentified devise found at a home in the city centre however Morecambe Road and Scale Hall Lane have been reopened.
This is the second bomb scare in less than a week, police called in the squad after raiding a home on Lune Road at 9am on Wednesday (September 22).
People living on Lune Street have been advised by police to stay in their homes and 80 residents from Millennium House and Lune House have been evacuated.
One lane on Greyhound Bridge remains shut.
Only five days ago at the city’s castle a suspect car parked close to Castle Hill prison lead to the bomb disposal team carrying out a controlled explosion on a Renault Scenic.
The vehicle had been left near the castle with a battery and wires on show.
Roads were sealed off for six hours and residents evacuated.
The vehicle, which had Irish number plates, belonged to an elderly man who was on holiday.
