A PADIHAM mum was knocked to the ground and punched in the face this morning by two muggers who stole her handbag.
The 45-year-old Padiham mother-of-one was targeted as walked home in the early hours.
She had been walking up a path between Thompson Street and Coronation Avenue when the men pounced.
Detective Sergeant Nicola Bithell said: “The woman received cuts and bruises to her face and was left shocked and upset by the attack.
"We are hoping that the local community will hear what has happened and someone will come forward with information to help us catch them."
The first attacker was white, about 5ft 6in tall, slim, with short blond hair.
And the other was white and around 5ft 4in tall.
