A PENSIONER has been left ‘distressed and shaken’ after she was targeted by two bogus officials.
The 77-year-old who lives at Holden Fold, Darwen, answered the door to two men around 1.15pm on Saturday.
According to police, the men claimed to be ‘fixing a water leak’ and managed to enter the house.
But Inspector Graham Ashcroft said the woman quickly realised their intentions and ‘kicked them out’.
Insp Ashcroft said: “Nothing was stolen, but the woman has been left very distressed and very shaken up.
“A team of officers are investigating and making house to house inquiries in the area.”
Both men are described as white and in their 30s. The first suspect was approximately 5ft8in tall, slim, with short, dark hair and wearing dark clothing.
The second man was around 5ft4in tall, stocky, with short hair and possibly wearing a white checked top.
