A TROUBLED pub in Haslingden, which was being investigated by police following complaints, has shut down.
Neighbourhood officers in the Greenfield ward had targeted The Crown, in Manchester Road, following a series of complaints about loud parties.
PC Ian Thompson, who was considering a licensing review of the premises, said: “We do not want to stop people enjoying themselves.
“But when the quality of life of local residents is being affected as a result of noisy parties then the police and the local council will take steps to ensure that the premises is complying with its licence.”
The pub has now closed and is up for sale with Preston-based auction house Pugh and Company, with a reserve price of around £140,000.
Regulars believed the pub had been unfairly targeted.
