DARWEN'S 1940s Day has been given a royal seal of approval.
A letter from Prince Charles commending the work done by organisers has been presented to the town’s library.
The event raised £4,092 to be divided between the Support Our Soldiers Christmas Parcels to Afghanistan Appeal, and the British Limbless Ex-Soldiers Association.
Organisers this week announced that next year’s 1940s Day has been pencilled in for September 3.
They say every English-speaking newspaper in the world will be approached in order to attract ex-pats to the event.
Voluntary groups wishing to take part should call Pat on 01254 723589.
