A TEENAGE actor from Read has joined the cast of prime-time BBC1 show Waterloo Road.
Lucien Laviscount, 18, who attended Ribblesdale High School Technology College, Clitheroe, has landed the role of a Year 12 pupil called Jonah Kirby in the hit programme set in a Rochdale comprehensive school.
He has wanted to act since he was two and would love to make it big in Hollywood, like his idol Will Smith.
Lucien is best known for playing Sophie Webster’s boyfriend, Ben Richardson, in Coronation Street.
He has also appeared in other dramas, including Cutting It, New Street Law and Grange Hill, where he beat off 100 other competitors to land the role of Jake Briggs.
The young actor is supported by his family, including dad Eugene, a former bodybuilder, mother Sonia and his two brothers, Louis, 20, a promising golfer, and Jules 17.
Waterloo Road airs on Wednesdays at 8pm on BBC1.
