The Rossendale Community First Responder (CFR) team is looking for members of the public to volunteer. CFR groups work with the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) across rural areas of the region and are trained to deliver basic life support and defibrillation to patients in cardiac arrest.
They are also trained to attend a range of conditions where they can administer oxygen and first aid and play a reassurance role for the patient in advance of the ambulance arriving.
Volunteers can be male or female, they must be aged over 18 years and no previous experience is necessary. They must have access to a car and be able to attend emergency calls either from their home or place of work.
