A TEENAGER who took part in a house raid in Rawtenstall was locked up for an hour by a judge who said it was a taste of things to come if he did it again.
Josh Ashworth, 18, was remanded in custody over lunchtime by Judge Beverley Lunt, who then freed him and said she was now putting the future in his own hands.
Ashworth, punched the air as the judge said she was sparing him detention and agreed he had learned a lesson.
The defendant, of Dearden Nook, Rawtenstall, had admitted burglary and had been committed for sentence by magistrates.
He was given 52 weeks in detention, suspended for two years, with two years supervision.
