A NEW incentive scheme is being introduced at Burnley Market to fight back against the economic slowdown.
Traders are launching a ‘lucky number’ card, where customers can match their ticket to a randomly-generated digit and claim free shopping vouchers.
The promotion is being run every day until October 30, with the initial prize set at £100.
If the lucky number is not claimed then £25 will be added to the total until a successful claim is made.
Markets head Colin Hill said: “We hope that there will be many winners.
"Of course the more people visit the market with their cards in hand the greater chance they will have.
“For some it is a further reason to visit the market where local food and everyday bargains are on offer day in, day out.”
It is estimated 40,000 cards could be handed out, with distribution points around the Curzon Street site.
